Maverick's Fans:

Please come out to Maverick's THIS THURSDAY, May 13 for a special fundraiser to support Leukemia and Lymphoma research.

From 5:00 to 9:00p in our lounge, we will be having a BEER BUST. For $10, you get a Maverick's logo pint glass to keep, and all the beer you can (responsibly) drink until we bust the keg! Chef Ryan will be running $10 dinner specials that night, and a percentage of all proceeds will go the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. We will also have lots of "CANCER SUCKS" wine glasses, jewelry, and more on hand to sell.

One of our owners, Chase, is running in the Team In Training Rock N' Roll Marathon this summer in San Diego to support Leukemia and Lymphoma. Chase is running in honor of McKenna Johnson. McKenna is the daughter of Maverick's regulars Scott and Krista (who will also be running in the San Diego marathon, and will be at Thursday's fundraiser).

McKenna passed away November 27, 2007 at the age of 10 after a battle with Lymphoma. You can get to know McKenna through reading her CaringBridge journal athttp://www.caringbridge.org/mn/mckenna.

Maverick's has been a conduit through which they have been able to fundraise for LLS; you may have seen their "CANCER SUCKS" T-shirts if you have hung around Mav's enough! Their story has impacted our entire staff. This Christmas, our staff went out and donated a bunch of gifts to Childrens Hospital in memory of McKenna.
