FOOD WILL BE DINE-IN ONLY š š š
18 years old. An adult. Old enough to vote and move out on your own. Itās an eternity in the restaurant industry. To put into perspective how long ago that was, we had serious debates about opening a restaurant after the smoking ban went into place, wondering āare people still going to go to bars if they canāt smoke inside?ā.
From the smoking ban, to financial meltdown, to global pandemic, weāve been here through it all. We wouldnāt have been able to do that without each and every one of you. Without our fiercely loyal Maverickās family – you – thereās no way we would be still alive. We canāt say enough how grateful we have been for all of your support and love that youāve given us over the past 18 years. But as the story goes, all good things must come to an end.
Saturday, May 31st will be the last day Maverickās Wood Grill will be open, at least in its current form. A sappy person would say donāt cry because itās over, smile because it happened. Weāre pretty sure that this is one of the cases where weāll do both.
Ryan and Dan have an opportunity to start their own business, and weāre very excited for them to begin their own journey as restaurant owners at a new concept. Theyāll be able to tell you all about it.
Years ago, a bartender at another local establishment called Maverickās āthe land of misfit toys,ā and to be honest – it might have been the greatest compliment anyone has ever given us. A place where people are not only accepted, but encouraged to come as they are.
To our incredible staff over the years – you came in as strangers and left as family. And not that BS kind of family where the boss says āweāre like a family here.ā Weāre forever grateful for the friendships weāve made along the way, and the good times weāve had with you all will never be forgotten.
So Champlin – youāve got us until the end of the month to come in and share your favorite times at Maverickās! Whether it be beer and wine dinners, trivia, live music (sometimes featuring our own Dan), impromptu dance parties, holiday brunches, or choir practice, weād love to hear about all of them. Weāre additionally planning a special closing party on Saturday, May 31st and we want to see EVERYONE there.
As for the future of what Maverickās becomes, Amber and Chase are currently exploring options. We will be looking for new owners. So, if your uncle recently won the lottery, and has always wanted to open a restaurant, please reach out to chase@maverickswoodgrill.com.
Again, thank you all SO MUCH for the 15 good years (letās be honest, 3 or so of them were not so good), and letās make some new memories in this last month.
With much love to all of you,
Amber, Chase, Dan, Ryan, and Kambria
